A direct link between strategic intent and the management and reward of each individual's performance is an essential prerequisite for business success.  However, creating such links can be difficult: business strategy may not be articulated in operational terms; objectives - however clear at the top - may not be passed down effectively; and poor performance may not be well-managed.  People performance systems are often time-consuming and complex, and the organisational culture sometimes allows the management of individual performance to be relegated to an annual chat.

Our Practice
Foton Consulting Group works with organisations to ensure they align strategic intent with day-to-day management.  In doing so, we define three main themes for taking action:

  • setting direction - clarifying the few defining factors that are crucial to business success and translating these into measurable individual objectives

  • defining success - establishing clear mechanisms to review and measure performance for both the organisation and the individual

  • focusing on outputs - enabling line managers to translate business success into individual reward and recognition.
